Canary Island wines took center stage at Txikiteo for a special tasting event last week. If you missed the tasting, don’t despair; you can still sample some of these special wines. Three of them have been added to Txikiteo’s list for the month of February! And don’t forget the tapas to go with!
It doesn’t do to be anti-Valentine’s Day—who’s against love, after all? Instead, we’ll talk about what Valentine’s Day could be when you break it out of the heart-shaped box it’s been crammed into—that is, when you expand your idea of a celebration! See what specialty boards, patio cook-out, select wines, and featured dishes we have planned for the entire weekend, February 14th-16th, because, why limit love to just one day?
On February 6, Txikiteo begins its series of 2019 wine dinners with an evening of wine, food, and conversation built around wines from the Canary Islands. Txikiteo’s event will be a rare opportunity for American wine drinkers to try these hard-to-get labels— and enjoy these unique flavours surrounded by good friends and good vibes.
What are you doing New Year’s Eve? If you’re lucky, you’re spending it fireside at Txikiteo—cozy blankets provided. Make us your first, second, or final stop on your food and drink crawl across downtown Boise as you ring in the new year in the true spirit of 'Txikiteo' ! See what we have going on special (did we hear oysters on the half shell?) as we stay open extra late New Year’s Eve to help ring in the new year with a proper toast.
At Txikiteo, we believe that every bottle of wine holds many stories: the story of the winemaker or the grower, or even the distributor; the story—at the most reductive level—of the weather, the soil, the vine itself. But how does everyone get a chance to experience the fruits of a craft like this and so come to know a bottle’s story on a genuine and personal level?
Answering that question is both passion and mission for Txikiteo beverage coordinator Stuart Mitton.
